More Algebra for Everyone - Activities to help students to tackle algebra with confidence Book 2

ALGEBRA FOR EVERYONE – 2 TITLES IN SERIES

Algebra is a fundamental strand of mathematics yet sadly, after starting on the algebra curriculum, many students divide themselves into two categories: those who can do mathematics and those who think they can't. For students who struggle with algebra, the remainder of their time doing mathematics at secondary school can be difficult. More Algebra for Everyone follows up on the first book in this series to give ALL students the understanding and confidence they need to work with advanced algebra and thus the mathematics curriculum more broadly. Based on a wealth of insight and teaching experience, More Algebra for Everyone has been created to provide the informed, practical support both teachers and students need to get algebra learning off to a strong start. Concepts are presented in a variety of ways to help students build their understanding and to gain extensive practice without it feeling repetitive. Another advantage of the wide-ranging nature of these activities is that it helps you to probe their knowledge further and gain a deeper insight into their level of understanding Interactivity is another effective feature as students work with each other to strengthen their understanding of the main algebraic techniques. Many of the activities work more effectively together rather than in isolation. In this way, students gain extensive practice with a concept in multiple ways, making it easier for them to master it.

CONTENTS: - provides numerous activities that offer variety in their level of challenge and their approach to core algebra topics - emphasises getting students interacting with each other and switched on to algebra - covers a comprehensive range of algebra topics to build the understanding and confidence students need to deal with this strand of the curriculum - includes answers to activities, which can be used for self-marking

With its engaging, accessible activities designed to inspire confidence in learning, this series makes a strong case for the idea that, really, algebra can be for everyone!
